Dr. Maahir Haque is a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon, who specializes in minimally invasive spine surgery. He completed fellowship training in spine surgery at the prestigious Brown University program in Providence, Rhode Island.
Dr. Haque provides individualized care. His surgical approach emphasizes motion-preserving solutions rather than spine fusions, when appropriate. He specializes in motion-preserving surgery for spondylolisthesis and disc degeneration. He performs cervical disc replacements and is widely recognized as Central Florida’s leading lumbar disc replacement surgeon.
Dr. Haque is recognized in the international spine surgery community. He has published articles in both the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery (JBJS) and Spine—two of the most prominent journals in spine surgery. He has presented his research at the prestigious Scoliosis Research Society. He is currently chairman of the spine section of the Florida Orthopedic Society and was recently appointed a member of the AAOS Spine Content Committee.
He is actively involved in clinical research. He and his research team are studying pars repair as a motion-preserving solution for certain patients with spondylolisthesis. He is also involved in the development of new techniques for prone lateral spine surgery.

Dr. Haque was born and raised in South Florida. He and his wife, a cardiologist, reside in Lake Nona. In his spare time, he loves playing golf and taking his kids fishing.
A devoted teacher, Dr. Haque was a clinical instructor at Brown University. He is an Assistant Professor at the University of Central Florida College of Medicine.
