Douglas McDonald, MD
Book an AppointmentDr. McDonald grew up in Colorado. He has many interests including different sports and the outdoors. He played college baseball and tennis, and still plays these along with pickleball, weight training, cycling, and running. He has also coached baseball, softball, and was a tennis pro. He is a SCUBA diver, a photographer, and an experienced mountain climber.
Dr. McDonald specializes in Sports Medicine and non-operative Orthopedics including non-operative fracture care, joint injections, and musculoskeletal care.
Dr. McDonald has been a team physician for the Atlanta Braves since 2013. He has been the team physician for several minor league baseball teams including the Lansing Lugnuts, the Beloit Snappers, and the Florida Fire Frogs. He was a team physician for the University of Florida Gators Athletics and was part of several National Championships including in Football, Men’s Basketball, Women’s Tennis, and was the physician at the College World Series and several other national championship events.

He is a past head team physician for the Orlando Solar Bears hockey team, Rollins College, and has helped with UCF Athletics. He was a traveling team physician for the US Women’s Basketball U-19 team.
